F-1 Fuel Filter Assembly
Allows by-passing of the GCF Filter for servicing while engine is running

With Valve #3 CLOSED, Valve #1 and #2 OPEN, fuels is passed through the filter
By Opening Valve #3, then closing Valve #1 and #2, the fuel is by-passed directly to the filter(s) on the engine.
By-passing should only be done in emergencies since whatever contaminates are causing the necessary change will then go to the engine filters and
eventually the engine injector pump and injectors.

Typical Filter Installation found on most Diesel engines
Below shows the GFC Model F-1 (or F-2) installed in lieu of the primary filter. All connection are at least 3/8" (1/2 for F-2). A valve should be installed on the input and output to
isolate the filter when servicing. The vacuum gauge should read 0-7" with all clean filters at maximum load. A Change of an additional 3-5" above clean system reading indicates a change is
needed.

Use PIPE Dope of any recognized brand on all fittings. Do NOT Over tighten Hose Clamps.
Advantages
-
First and foremost, IT WORKS. The GCF Fuel Filter is positively the best buy on the market today. It is simple to install, even more simple to service.
-
The massive sub-micron element allows maximum service intervals.
-
Conventional filter elements (Primary and/or secondary filters presently on your engine) will last up to 5 times longer when the GCF Fuel filter element is serviced at
necessary intervals. (at the first loss of RPM or an increase of 3-5" above clean filter reading on vacuum gauge). Clean filter reading on vacuum gauge ideally should be 0" but never
7" under maximum load. Higher reading than 7" indicates additional filters needed in parallel.
-
Inventory costs are drastically lowered since conventional elements are seldom replaced and since the GCF Fuel Filter element is the same for all engines.
-
Contrary to popular belief, water is not the primary cause of downtime in diesel engines... it is all the other contaminants combined. Water can be effectively removed with
simple water traps. The element used in GCF's Fuel Filter not only cleans but "dries" the fuel. Compare any conventional filter element with the element recommended for GCF's
Fuel Filter... and there the comparison ends.
**Call For Recommended Use**
Each element of the GCF fuel filter is rated at 2gpm-Call your dealer for the TOTAL fuel demand pump of your engine.
NOTE: When installing 2 Model F-2 Filters in parallel, use the same connection sequence as for 2 Model F-1's. The smallest fitting will be 1/2"
Installing 2 Model F-2 Filters in parallel requires a similar sequence of fittings. However, the fitting sizes are larger: No. 1 filter requires 1" fittings, No2 - 3/4" fittings, No 3 -
1/2" fittings. (See diagram at left)
NOTE: Except for Bell Reducer (which adapts the 3/8" Nipple to whatever size nipple to fit IN and OUT Hoses), fittings for this installation are the same as typical connection of two
Model F-1's or F-2's in parallel.

For Use on Pumps where pressure exceeds 30 PSI
